PHYSIO-LED PILATES CLASSES

BLANCHARDSTOWN, CASTLEKNOCK & TALLAGHT

At Somerton Physiotherapy we run face-to-face and online Pilates classes. Our face-to-face classes take place at the wonderful surrounds of Laurel Lodge community centre in Castleknock, Dublin 15. We have been specialising in teaching Pilates classes for over 15 years. What makes our classes unique is that we are all physiotherapists with an expert knowledge on how the human body works and functions.

What is Pilates?

Pilates is an exercise class that uses body weight exercises and specific equipment to strengthen the main core muscles, improve co-ordination, improve body awareness and increase flexibility. Core weakness (abdominals, low back and glutes) can cause many issues that may result in pain throughout your body. Using our Pilates classes in Dublin 15 to strengthen these muscles can help you recover from injury and can also be useful in preventing future injury.

Who is Pilates suitable for?

Pilates is suitable for everyone no matter what age or fitness level. At Somerton Physiotherapy Clinic we offer beginner, intermediate and advanced level Pilates classes. Each class is led by a chartered physiotherapist who will have a depth of knowledge regarding any injuries you have and will be able to adapt classes to suit your needs. In addition, if you are receiving treatment with us we will be able to advise which level is most suitable for you to start at. This will mean you won’t find classes too easy or find yourself out of your depth at our Pilates classes.

Pilates can help improve conditions such as:
  • Low back pain
  • Hip and Knee injuries
  • Sciatic pain
  • Neck discomfort
  • Shoulder injuries
  • Pelvic dysfunction
  • Post-pregnancy injuries/pain
  • Chronic sports injuries involving hips, groins and hamstrings.
We have resumed our In Person Pilates classes in Dublin 15 again. But don’t worry, if you are not ready to step back into Face to Face Pilates just yet, we are also continuing our Online Pilates classes too. FACE TO FACE PILATES CLASSES DUBLIN 15 SCHEDULE

Our Face to Face Pilates classes in Dublin 15 run as a 7 week course. The cost for a 7 week course is €120

NB: Please note, we require you to book in for a 1-2-1 Pilates session prior to commencing group classes (Cost €70) if:

  1. If you have not attended Pilates classes before, the instructor can guide you through the fundamental movements.  This will be beneficial when you join the group class, ensuring you gain more from the experience once you’re familiar with the basics.
  2. If you have attended pilates in the past, but not in the last 12 months, this session will be very beneficial for you as it enables us to assess your suitability for re-commencing group classes and advise on what class level you should join.

Please bring your own mat to the class.

One2One Pilates in our Blanchardstown Village or Tallaght clinics

We also offer One to One Pilates sessions at our clinics in Blanchardstown Village and Tallaght. At a One to One session you can learn the basics of Pilates with the added benefit of individual instruction from your teacher. If you are new to Pilates, we recommend that you do a One to One session with one of our teachers prior to commencing group classes.
